The
Deep Purple Passion Paddle
When
my wife and I went to buy some wood a few weeks ago, she discovered
a beautiful wood called Purple Heart and insisted I buy some for
some new paddles. This
wood, which comes from Mexico and South America, is very hard,
but
not as heavy as oak and ash.
It is a luscious color of purple--a little less pink and more purple than I was able to capture with my camera. As always, there has been no stain applied to the solid wood--just several coats of non-yellowing lacquer.
